Command: Display/Weaving < DW >
Purpose: Full-screen Weaving display with Palette editing
Information:
This is the primary display function. It shows a
pattern draft section using the current Range and Modes
settings.
In Text/Data mode, warp or weft data is shown if it is
turned ON through Options/Data. Display/Text Options
determine other characteristics of the display; two of the
switches are duplicated under Edit/Modes for convenience.
In graphics modes, the weaving is centered on the screen.
If Display/Graphics/Zoom is not zero, the current warp and
weft magnification factors are used. Because of their
unequal horizontal to vertical ratios, some graphics modes
require a different warp and weft aspect factor to produce
blocks that appear square.
Thread Variable Magnification ON provides an additional
sizing factor applied individually to each warp and weft
thread based on its Symbol number.
Display/Color Weave determines if single or multiple colors
are available.
In all video modes, pressing a function key activates
EGA/VGA Palette editing once the last section of weaving is
displayed.
Comments:
Display/Range/Weaving is identical to Display/Weaving except
it allows you to set the Range. Subsequently, you can use
Display/Weaving until you want to reset the Range again.
The arrangement of data is controlled by Options/Format.

Command: Display/Design < DD >
Purpose: Full-screen Graphics mode Design Display
Information:
This feature works identically to Display/Weaving except
that text/data mode is not allowed. If you request a
display with text/data ON, an error message is given.
Thread Variable Magnification has no affect on the design
board, however warp and weft magnification do.
Comments:
Display/Range/Design is identical to Display/Design except
it allows you to set the Range. Subsequently, you can use
Display/Deisgn until you want to reset the Range again.

Command: Display/Range < DR >
Purpose: Menu--Change ranges and display weaving or design.
Information:
Ranges are NOT the SIZE of a weaving or design--they are
simply a way of identifying a section of weaving or design.
You can also alter ranges through Edit/Range and
Print/Range.
Comments:
Normally, your ranges will equal the entire weaving.

Command: Display/Range/Weaving < DRW >
Purpose: Change warp and weft ranges and display weaving.
Information:
Warp and Weft range windows are presented for input before
Display/Weaving is called.
Allowable range is limited by current warp and weft limit.
Comments:
Use Edit/Warp-Weft/Size to change actual weaving size.
Normally, the range will equal the weaving size.

Command: Display/Range/Design < DRD >
Purpose: Change row and column ranges and display design.
Information:
Design Row and Column Range windows are presented for input
before Display/Design is called.
Comments:
Use Edit/Design/Size to change actual design size.

_______________________________________________________________
Command: Display/Modes < DM >
Purpose: Select the video mode for pattern draft display.
Information:
Text/Data is available to all types of video monitor.
Graphics modes require a composite or color graphics system.
Comments:
Text/Data is the only mode that shows warp and weft data.
Graphics modes show the pattern only.
See Also: Options/Display/Modes all options.

Command: Display/Color Weave < DC >
Purpose: Switch--Select multi-color mode for display.
Information:
When the switch is ON, the color numbers for warp and weft
determine the color displayed.
By turning the switch OFF, you force a single color display
using the Single warp color for warp and Single weft color
for weft.
You can still call the EGA/VGA palette controller by
pressing a function key, but only the two Single colors will
be visible.
This switch affects the Editors as well. When Color Weave
is OFF, color numbers cannot be changed with the grid inputs
or Combined Numeric.
Comments:
The Single colors are changed through the Edit/Colors/Warp-
Weft/Single Color option.
See Also: Display/Text Options.

Command: Display/Palette < DP >
Purpose: Comprehensive EGA/VGA palette editor.
Information:
Depending on the installed video display, either the EGA or
the VGA palette editor is presented. You cannot shift the
EGA palette on a VGA system, nor the VGA palette on an EGA
system.
Two palettes are maintained: weavings and menus--the Home
and End keys toggle the current palette being edited.
For best results, leave three Weave Palette colors ALONE:
7, LightGray; 15, White; and 16, Black. This assures that
the palette editor and other screens presented in the
weaving palette will remain legible.
The VGA palette editor provides Filing options for palettes
which duplicate some File menu options.
The controls available on the full screen palette editor are
also available to adjust the weaving palette while weavings
and designs are displayed. Pressing a function or top-row
numeral key during a display will select the corresponding
color and call the display screen version of the weaving
palette controller.
Comments:
EGA Red/Green/Blue light beams can have 4 intensities from
no light to fully on--represented by 0, 1, 2, and 3. The
mix is presented next to the sample block as the different
colors are selected. Four intensities each raised to the
power of 3 light beams yields the 64-color EGA palette.
VGA Red/Green/Blue light beams can have 64 intensities from
no light to fully on--represented by 0 to 63. The mix for
each color is presented next to the sample bars. 64
intensities each raised to the power of 3 light beams yields
the 262,144-color VGA palette.
The palette editors are sensitive to the presence of mice
and present slightly altered screens if a rodent is sensed.
All Palette menu options are "clickable"; left and right
buttons are identical in the palette controllers. In the
VGA/MCGA palette, once a color is selected with the mouse, a
second <MouseButton> starts the palette cycling through the
colors; <MouseButton> again to stop.
In the VGA/MCGA palettes, a "Fix/Free Palette" option is
available. If you adjust MENU colors and select "Palette
Fixed," the palette will remain altered after you exit
Patternland. If another application program does not adjust
the palette itself, this feature allows you to use the
altered colors in the other application.

Command: Display/Graphics Options < DG >
Purpose: Menu--Change graphics options settings.
Information:
The graphics options settings have no affect on Text/Data
mode displays.
One option, Thread Variable Magnification, affects both
display and printer graphics; the rest affect only display
graphics.
Comments:
Graphics options are saved in the configuation and all other
weaving files.

_______________________________________________________________
Command: Display/Text Options < DT >
Purpose: Menu--Change text options switches.
Information:
The text options settings have no affect on graphics
mode displays.
Three switches--Draw-Down, Warp Multi-Symbol, and Weft
Multi-Symbol--affect text mode Printing and are duplicated
under Print/Text Options.
All switches except Draw-Down also control the grid
editors.
Comments:
Text options are saved in the configuation and all other
weaving files.

_______________________________________________________________
Command: Display/Scroll Weaving < DS >
Purpose: Text mode scrollable display of weaving.
Information:
Press the help key <?> for available commands while you
are scrolling the weaving.
The Text Options settings and Color Weave switch affect the
Scroll Weaving appearance.
No data available in Scroll Weaving.
Scroll Weaving uses the current ranges; it cannot scroll
beyond them.
Comments:
No EGA/VGA palette adjustments from Scroll Weaving.
