Command: Edit/Modes/Grid-Checkerboard < EMG >
Purpose: Switch--Control editing method for New Weaving
Information:
When Grid-Checkerboard is ON, New Weaving presents the
comprehensive Edit/Weaving screen after requesting the new
limits and erasing the current weaving.
When the switch is OFF, New Weaving presents a series of
numeric editing prompts for threading and for
tieup/treadling or harness combinations, instead of the
grid/board editor.
Comments:
The same numeric prompts used by New Weaving are always
available under the Edit/[...]/Change options.
There is no harm in switching between numeric and grid/board
editing; they are just different methods of changing the
same things.

Command: Edit/Modes/Board style grid < EMB >
Purpose: Switch--Control grid editing background style
Information:
When Board style grid is ON, the grid/board looks like a
Checkerboard and the pattern fills the squares.
When the switch is OFF, the grid/board is a graph-like grid,
but the pattern blocks fill the intersections.
Comments:
Grid mode is most appropriate for most monochrome systems
since the filled blocks don't stand out as well on the
checkerboard background.

Command: Edit/Modes/VGA-EGA 50-43 line < EMV >
Purpose: Switch--Control text editing font style/lines
Information:
When VGA/EGA 50-43 line mode is ON, the editors and text
mode displays shift to this mode. The font style is square
instead of rectangularly high--creating square block
characters and more lines per screen.
When the switch is OFF, double-wide mode is required to
make block characters appear square.
Comments:
This is one of the big advantages of an EGA or VGA system.

Command: Edit/Modes/Wide Blocks < EMW >
Purpose: Switch--Control double wide text mode
Information:
When Wide Blocks is ON, the editors and text
mode display two characters for every one. Since a
character matrix is roughly twice as high as wide, two
characters together yield a nearly square block.
When the switch is OFF, each pattern block appears as a
rectangle unless VGA/EGA 50/43 line mode is on.
Comments:
In Double Wide mode, the harness and treadling numbers can
use numerals above harness/treadle 9 instead of A...G..y
Turn on Double Wide mode and Peg Plan Numeric to see all
harnesses up to 32 displayed as numbers.

Command: Edit/Modes/Combined Numeric < EMC >
Purpose: Switch--Control inclusion of colors/symbols
Information:
When Combined Numeric mode is ON, the numeric New Weaving
option and Change Warp and Weft all present prompts to
enter color and symbol number for each warp or weft thread
at the same time as the warp and weft data are requested.
When combined Numeric is OFF, you can edit colors and
symbols through the Edit/Colors and Edit/Symbols menus.
Comments:
This feature requires that Color Weave be ON for color input
and Multi-Warp and Multi-Weft Symbol be ON for their
respective symbol input to appear.
You can also change colors and symbols on the grid editing
screens.
