Command: Print/Modes/Text-Data Printing < PMT >
Purpose: SWITCH--Control text/graphics method of printing
Information:
Text/Data mode is sensitive to the various Options/Data
settings and the Print/Text Options switches.
Comments:
This is the same switch as Graphics Printing--when one goes
on, the other goes off automatically.

Command: Print/Modes/Graphics Printing < PMG >
Purpose: SWITCH--Control text/graphics method of printing
Information:
Once turned ON, Graphics modes are controlled under
Print/Graphics Options.
Non-numeric weave data can be shown in graphics modes.
Comments:
This switch is mutually exclusive with Text/Data Printing--
when one goes on, the other goes off automatically.

Command: Print/Modes/Automatic Form Feed < PMA >
Purpose: SWITCH--Control automatic page ejection after print
Information:
When switch is ON, the page is ejected after each print of
the weaving or design.
Comments:
Print/Setup/Immediate sends a form feed on demand.

Command: Print/Modes/7-Color Printing < PM7 >
Purpose: SWITCH--Control 7-color method of printing
Information:
When this switch is ON, color prints are created by sending
built-in color codes to the printer. The printer is
responsible for mixing green, orange, and purple, while
yellow, magenta, cyan, and black are created from single
ribbon strikes.
White is not available in text mode, although 7-color
graphics allow it.
In 7-color mode, several similar screen colors print as the
same color since there are less than half as many available.
Comments:
7-color printing can be faster than mixed color printing,
but does not provide as a good relation between screen and
printed output. Not recommended for IBM/Toshiba printers.

Command: Print/Modes/Color Mix Printing < PMC >
Purpose: SWITCH--Control mixed color printing mode
Information:
This is the preferred method of color printing.
With switch ON, Patternland mixes each color itself by
striking the ribbon bands yellow, magenta, cyan, and black
the number of times you specify in the Color Palette Mixer.
White is "mixed" by not striking ANY ribbon band.
The default palette is designed to match standard video
colors.
Comments:
The intensity of the color palette determines the throughput
speed of printing. In the worst case, if at least one of
the 16 colors required four strikes of each of the four
ribbon bands, each print row could take up to 16 passes of
the printhead. Patternland checks ahead to see the maximum
number of passes for each color used and avoids unnecessary
passes as possible.
Mixed color printing produces the best relation between
screen and printed output on a dot matrix printer.
Mixed color printing as above is available for text mode
only on the HP PaintJet. Use PaintJet Color Graph mode for
graphics.

Command: Print/Modes/PaintJet Color Graph < PMP >
Purpose: SWITCH--Control use of PaintJet palette mode
Information:
This is the only method of color graphics printing on the
HP PaintJet.
With switch ON, the Patternland Color Palette Mixer shifts
to PaintJet palette mode and displays color mixes as RGB
NTSC video values instead of the ink cartrage colors
yellow, magenta, cyan, and black. The PaintJet converts
these RGB values by printing dots of different colors side
by side.
Using the Color Palette Mixer's Convert Video option you can
transfer the current video palette to the editor for
modifications and fine tuning using the PaintJet manual.
Using the AutoPaintJet option, the video palette is
converted automatically at printing time.
Comments:
The Rainbow Print option is NOT supported for the PaintJet
Color Graphics palette; it shows the text mode Color Mix
Palette only. For the Graphics palette sample, use the
PaintJet's own internal palette sample printout.

Command: Print/Modes/Black & White Passes < PMB >
Purpose: SETTING--Control number of ribbon strikes for B&W
Information:
You can strike the printout up to four times for each
graphics row. This can produce especially black printouts.
Comments:
Setting this value to two is equivalent to setting the
printer for double strike printing in text mode.
Setting the printer for double strike or a bold font has no
affect on graphics.
