Installing the components

This section indicates how to install Solution-Pac / WAN UM-Client software component on a DEC Unix / Compaq True 64 station.

Before proceeding with the installation, we assume that you have read the installation Pre-requisites.

Important :
UM-Agent is not available on DEC Unix / Compaq True 64
Before installing UM-Client, you must setup an embedded agent or software agent UM-Agent for another operating system.

Important :
DEC Unix/Compaq True 64 operating system requires specific configuration to use graphical interface components.

Follow these steps to install Solution-Pac / WAN components :

• Check that you have administrator rights on DEC Unix/Compaq True64.
• Insert the CD-ROM in the drive.
• Request the system administrator to mount the CD drive, e.g. on /cdrom.
• Go to the directory /cdrom/install/dec
• Execute the program ./setup
• Choose your language
• There are two types of installation:
  Personal Solution-Pac
  Solution-Pac / WAN
  Choose Solution-Pac / WAN to install the component described in this documentation :
  UM-Client protects the system.
• You are invited to enter the parameter of the installed UM-Client (main parameter to enter is the « IP Address » of the agent under consideration)
• The component installed is then started automatically and you can unmount CD drive and remove the CD-ROM from the drive.
• You must test UM-Client
• If you have installed and tested the components required to protect this computer, the protection is now active on this computer and will be run automatically on each startup.
• Install UM-Client to be protected.

IMPORTANT: If you stop the embedded agent or THE computer UM-Agent was installed on, no other computer will be protected.
