Joe West writes: "Got my oil changed just outside of Palm Springs this past weekend. They normally give you one of those stickers you can put in your windshield to remind when to change your oil... but didn't this time. I asked why... the attendant said... "the computers have been freakin' out". I didn't think much of it until I saw my invoice!"

"It's not an isolated problem either. My girlfriend had her oil changed too in Los Angeles. Hers says the same thing. I guess it's a good thing we're just people and not some important system depending on this date data to say... cool a nuclear power plant!" (11/30/99)

This photo is by famous photographer Anne Geddes. The title of this particular photo is "Jack holding Maneesha", and it was taken in 1993. In her book, "UNTIL NOW", Geddes says the following about this photo:

"Maneesha weighed just over 900g at the time of the shoot. This image was taken at the neo-natal ward of her hospital. She was born prematurely at 28 weeks gestation (weighing 680g), and was just about to leave the hospital after her long stay.

Jack, who is holding her, has huge hands. At the time, he was working as a groundsman at a local school, so his hands were very weathered. I had placed an advertisement in a local newspaper for a man with 'very large hands, for a photo shoot.' As you can imagine, we had some very interesting replies. People even sent outlines of their hands by fax! I auditioned about 10 people and Jack's hands were the second largest, but he had a warm, gentle personality, which was essential for the shoot.

I just reurned from a week in Rachel back in November. Very interesting place. The security is unbelievable! The white jeep guys come out of no where. A fellow reporter and I spent 2 nights in the desert filming and taking pictures.

The first one is some sort of marker or sensor just inside area 51 from a distance.

The second picture is a close up I took just to prove I was on their side.

The third picture is of an orb that would appear from time to time. See the three smaller white lights.. those would come from the orb and zip away in mere seconds.

I work in engineering at a veterans hospital. One of the largest, which for personal reasons I won't name. Engineering and house keeping work 24 hours a day. Due to a house keeping supervisor retiring and a new employee coming on duty we had a costly accident in our MRI bldg. The new employee was not trained about the MRI and went along his way scrubbing the floors in the MRI bldg. with a large floor scrubber.

When he entered the MRI room, the scrubber was snatched from his hands with a tremendous force, and shot across the room as if being fired out of a canon and attached itself to the MRI! The employee, scared to death, with all the adrenaline in the world flowing could not remove the scrubber!

An MRI repair GUY writes:

Art, we are long time listeners. Thought we would give your listeners who are not familiar with MRI, a visual example of the magnets power. Does the aluminum block fall slower because of EDDY CURRENTS from the magnet or does TIME slow down?? You be the judge. The wrench was an 8" crescent.
