NOTE: Remember folks, we don't insist any of these are real, but are posted for your enjoyment and consideration. We post what the submitter claims. We leave it up to you to decide what is real and what is phoney. Bob Waid (bee.jay@verizon.net) writes: We took this photo, the first file, on Kauai in the Hawaiian Islands near Hanalei Bay. Later we noticed that above the head of the man was an unusual object. The next three files show successive blowups of the image at higher resolutions. In all cases, the body appears to be metallic and the tail appears to be exhaust gases. We did not hear any noise at the time or see any phenomenon. It was only when we looked at the photo did we see the object. Do you all have any idea of what it could be?
Andrew Brooks (abrooks@versionthree.com) writes: While I was making a series of Panoramic photos at the Davis, CA Saturday Farmer's Market in May, I snapped this photo. You can clearly see an object in the top-right quadrant of the photo, near the tip of the tree limb. I didn't see it when I took the pic, and only noticed it when I was putting the multi-image panoramic together. I sent it to many of my graphics buddies and others to see what they thought. Perhaps it is a speck on the lens? Or an aberration in the exposure? Or maybe it's really a UFO? You'll notice no one else in the photo appears to notice or care about it either. I leave it up to your readers to decide.
Brad Zacharias of Calgary, Alberta, Canada writes: I took this picture on August 20, 2002. The time and location was about 8:01:10 PM after a torrential rainstorm, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada from my 25th floor apartment view of the West. I never noticed the beams of light upon the time I was taking these, and once I developed them - I was dumbfounded to see such light activity. I speculated that maybe they were hailstones, but gravity does not permit objects to move upward, and it was not a windy day to blow them in this manner. A friend speculated they could be "rods" or even "fairies", but I still do not have a clue. In fact, he was the person to encourage me to submit these photographs to this site. My camera lenses were clean and in no way did I need to alter the color and use any effects of photo manipulation.
Shane W. Rice (RiceSW@miramar.usmc.mil) found this: I am e-mailing you this attached picture that I found on a NASA web-site. It might be nothing but again it could be something. Maybe if you put it on your website someone might come forward and be able to explain a little about it. Well to tell you a little about the picture. It can be found at this web address http://grin.hq.nasa.gov G.R.I.N. stands for GReat Images in NASA, which is a library of NASA pictures. Well I was browsing around in the NASA web-site and decided to go to G.R.I.N when I went into pictures of the section called space station. When I scrolled to the bottom to picture #10, as I looked at the picture I scanned it very closely trying to find something more interesting to look at than the big inner-tube looking model. Then I noticed the disk. When I looked at it more closely it really caught my attention that this thing looked like a small model of a UFO. So I thought well Art would probably find this interesting and I better e-mail it to him before they take it off the web-site incase it is a UFO model. The object is located to the bottom left of the space station model and to the right of the gentleman holding the hat in his hand, who is standing alone. It looks to me as if it is a model of a UFO on some type of stand. But the stand doesn't look like an ordinary stand, it looks as if it is some type of mechanism that would show the flight characteristics of the aircraft while in motion. The reason I say this is because it isn't just hard mounted on some display pole. If you look at the stand, there is a pole that the object is mounted to and then the pole decends into a cylindrical container that looks like it would house a motor or control mechanism of some type. This container seems as if it has a switch or control lever mounted to the side of it with a cable running out of that down and to the right. The motor container also seems to be mounted on an arm of some sort as well. It also seems like they were using this model as an briefing tool, or an educational model. I say this because if you notice there are chairs set up in a classroom type setting facing towards the object. Now I could be wrong Mr. Bell but it looks pretty believable to me. The route to find this picture once you get this web-site is the following: go to Browse By Subject, Space, International Space Station. It is the last picture on that page #10. I hope that this can shed a little more light on the fact that they aren't telling us everything, especially for how old the picture is. Thank you for spreading the word.
